FALKLAND ISLANDS GOVERNMENT
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
4 June 2021
Routine blood tests currently suspended
The KEMH would like to advise the public that due to an issue with a water filtration unit in the laboratory, routine blood samples cannot be processed at the usual rate. Until replacement components arrive and are fitted there will be a longer wait for routine blood test appointments.
Patients who have had a routine blood test cancelled in the last fortnight will be informed when their appointment is rescheduled. This issue does not affect urgent blood tests or Warfarin tests, which will continue to be carried out as normal.
The KEMH would like to thank the public for their cooperation and patience during this time, further information will be released once normal service has resumed.
