Antibody Testing at MPC

On 15 and 20 July a team from the KEMH visited MPC to offer antibody testing. A total of 324 tests were taken over these two days and 10 positive results were returned. All of the people who had positive results have been informed and KEMH staff also continue to call those who received negative results. If you underwent an antibody test at MPC for SARS-CoV-2 and you have not yet been contacted, please assume your test was negative, although you may still receive a call.

The results of the screening show that the measures put in place at MPC during the small COVID outbreak in April worked very well to shut down the spread of the infection. However, when looking at the results of all the antibody tests undertaken across both communities, it also shows us that there is no significant herd immunity in either population. As such it is essential that we all work together to ensure that we keep ourselves safe and continue to follow the basic public health advice of ensuring that you wash your hands regularly, socially distance from people outside your household, and report any cold or flu symptoms early.
