Strategic Priorities

The Public Health Unit provides leadership in the implementation and ongoing improvement of the Falkland Islands Public Health Strategy and in the development and delivery of evidence based initiatives to improve the wellbeing of the Falkland Islands community in collaboration across government and with the private sector.

Our current strategic objectives are:

  1. Data collection and research
  2. Developing workforce capacity for delivery of health promotion activities
  3. Supporting and developing policies and initiatives which encourage healthier choices
  4. Support and develop options which advocate for “health in all polices” approach to decision making in government

The Public Health Strategy was approved in 2019.
