Public Consultation on the Design of a Land Recovery Programme - Phase 2

The Falkland Islands Government (FIG) is seeking input from the public, landowners, and other stakeholders to shape a proposed Land Recovery Programme. The proposed programme focuses on restoring degraded land, improving agricultural productivity, and protecting biodiversity. In doing so the programme aims to support regenerative farming and the economic and environmental resilience of camp communities and landscapes
The first phase of the consultation sought views on the appropriate goals, structure and requirements of a programme. Based on outcomes from that process, and evaluation of existing agri-environmental schemes elsewhere, a proposed programme has now been drafted. FIG welcomes feedback on all aspects of the programme’s proposed structure including, for example, its goals, eligibility and participation requirements, payment rates and funded activities. Feedback will be used to finalize a workable programme that will be further assessed in a pilot phase.
