The Opportunity:  The Community Support Team have vacancies for full time carers to work within their team. This work enables individuals within their care to achieve their optimum health through providing support to them and to the nurses, families, and other carers within the team. 

Essential criteria: Applicants must be literate and numerate with good basic IT skills, hold a manual driving licence and have at least 6 months’ relevant experience of working in a social care setting.

The Opportunity: Assist with the provision of an efficient and effective Fire and Rescue Service for the safety and protection of all within the Falkland Islands (land, sea, and air).

Essential Criteria: A qualified mechanic to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), or the ability to demonstrate a solid track record or experience in mechanics (i.e. 5 years as a mechanic working to a similar level) and the ability to organise maintenance schedules and keep accurate records.

Additional Information: Due to the sensitive nature of this role, successful candidates will be required to undergo enhanced background and criminal record checks.

Job Title:  Offshore Petroleum - Regulatory  Policy Lead

FIG Grade A: starting salary £57,716 – £86,131 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: The Offshore Petroleum Regulatory Policy Lead is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the offshore petroleum regulatory regime, leading on the development of policies, codes of practice, and associated technical guidance. Monitoring and analysing regulatory frameworks, establishing robust policy governance, identifying regulatory risks, and developing mitigation strategies in collaboration with cross-government colleagues. You will ensure these frameworks remain robust, up-to-date, and aligned with best practices, enabling the effective and efficient management and regulation of this essential component of national energy infrastructure.

Essential criteria: A Master’s degree and have 10+ years’ experience in a senior public policy delivery role, experience in leading the delivery of legislation across strategic, tactical, and operational matters. Must demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to sift and analyse complex information and develop robust policy recommendations, alongside excellent written communication skills for high-quality briefings and reports.

FIG Grade G1 starting salary £21,635 - £24,779 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: To provide practical, administrative, and technical support across Department of Agriculture services and projects. The varied role includes agricultural data collection and processing, social media management and website editing, preparation publications and extension materials. The post-holder will also assist with livestock, wool, agronomy, and biosecurity activities, and help at farm events and field-based programmes.

Essential criteria: A minimum of 3 years’ relevant work (or a minimum of one year of academic agricultural training and two years’ relevant experience). Good general administrative skills such as an ability to produce documents and ensure meticulous and systematic data recording and record keeping, possess a practical aptitude for agriculture, and the ability to work both independently and within a small team.

Job Description - Agricultural Assistant

HEALTH & SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT - Advanced Practitioner - Adult Social Worker 

Department Name: Health & Social Services  

Job Title:  Advanced Practitioner - Adult Social Worker 

FIG Grade: Grade C starting salary £42,641 - £49,090 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity:   To lead on adult safeguarding and complex cases, delivering statutory social work services in accordance with relevant legislation, including the Assessment and Safeguarding of Adults Ordinance 2020 and the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, in preparation for the introduction of the Mental Capacity Ordinance. The role involves multi-departmental working, developing and delivering training on adult safeguarding and the forthcoming Mental Capacity Ordinance, and establishing internal procedures to ensure effective oversight of deprivation of liberty applications and reviews.

Essential criteria to include a degree in Social Work approved by one of the following regulators and current registration with one of the following Social Work England, Social Care Wales, Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) - in Northern Ireland, Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) - in Scotland or if qualifying after 2013, to have completed and passed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment and five years relevant post qualifying experience of working in the UK. (Experience in a British Overseas Territory working under a UK model may be considered).
