Job Title:  Offshore Petroleum - Head of Health, Safety and Environment

FIG Grade A1: starting salary £85,371 – £105,248 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: Leading a team of Health and Safety, Environment and Policy professionals, the Offshore Petroleum Head of Health, Safety and Environment will primarily act as the de facto Health, Safety and Environmental Regulator for all offshore petroleum development activity on behalf of the Government.

Essential criteria: to include a master’s degree in either health, safety or environment, or alternative business qualification or equivalent experience which should include at least ten years’ experience of effectively leading complex and large-scale teams’ projects and programmes of a similar level in a regulatory function. Additionally, the postholder should hold Chartered Membership of an appropriate professional institute associated with Health and Safety, Engineering, Science or Project Management.

Contract Type: This position is on standard FIG terms and conditions.

Interagency Liaison Officer

The Opportunity: Reporting to the Chief Resilience Officer as a member of the Directorate of Emergency Services & Island Security and working as part of a multi-agency team, the Interagency Liaison Officer (ILO) will provide critical support to emergency planning and resilience workstreams in the Falkland Islands. This requires the incumbent to work in collaboration with a range of FIG departments and external stakeholders and provide advice and communications support in multi-agency environment with a pre-planning focus on risk reduction and management.

Essential criteria include a degree in a relevant discipline, at least 5 years relevant experience of working with the emergency services, or other relevant field such as data analysis and handling sensitive information, have demonstratable experience of delivering risk management and emergency planning processes and have the ability to see tasks through to a successful conclusion, meeting challenging deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT - Resident Engineer

FIG Grade: A starting salary £57,216 to £65,584 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: Acting alongside the Senior Port Project Manager, this role will primarily serve as Falkland Islands Government’s client representative for the FIPASS replacement project, overseeing site management and ensuring compliance with all contractual, technical and quality standards while also contributing to other major infrastructure projects.

Essential criteria: For the role include a BSc (or equivalent) or other evidence of this level of ability and Chartered Civil or Structural Engineering status. Candidates must also have a minimum of ten years’ site and project management experience, along with five years’ contract management experience, including experience with NEC. 

Contract Type: This is a fixed term contract.

Candidates must also have a minimum of ten years’ proven experience in managing within a power station, energy facility or similar industrial setting.
