Advanced Practitioner – Children and Families

FIG Grade C starting salary £43,141 - £49,590 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: Undertake professional and comprehensive casework for complex caseload of children and young people. Work with family trauma and parenting difficulties to improve the Departments ability to manage complex family cases. Develop services to children in need and their families and maintain the register of children with disabilities. Maintain high professional standards and good overall knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation and practice methods, and provide guidance and support to less experienced staff to help them develop their professional skill and knowledge. As lead professional, to contribute to the provision of good quality services which integrate government and local initiatives and guidance (including Working Together, Safeguarding Procedures, Looked After Children’s processes, the Single Assessment and Common Assessment Framework).  Use the Signs of Safety Framework to implement strengths – based child protection assessments/planning.

Essential criteria to include a degree in Social Work approved by one of the following regulators and hold current registration with either Social Work England, Social Care Wales, Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC), Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or if qualifying after 2013, to have completed and passed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment. The postholder should also have at least five years relevant post qualifying experience of working in the UK (experience in a British Overseas Territory working under a UK model may be considered). A Post Graduate Diploma or PQ Specialist aware or have appropriate equivalent experience, (RQF 7 or NVQ 5 Equivalent)

Offshore Petroleum Assistant Technical Programme Lead - Mineral Resources

Department: Department of Mineral Resources

Job title: Offshore Petroleum Assistant Technical Programme Lead 

Starting Salary: This is a dual graded role depending on qualifications and experience, commencing from £36,274 - £41,668 per annum within Grade D1 or from £43,141 - £49,590 per annum within Grade C.

The Opportunity: The postholder will work closely and assist the Offshore Petroleum - Technical Programme Lead to support the effective management and successful delivery of all tactical and operational requirements across multiple offshore petroleum developments. This includes assisting with the active management, planning, co-ordination and execution of technically complex projects and work packages to ensure alignment against wider delivery programmes. The postholder will have proven experience in managing challenging and high-pressure environments, coupled with strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Th ability to manage and deliver technically demanding projects and work packages will be key to achieving successful outcomes.

Essential Criteria: A bachelor’s degree in engineering or project management (or equivalent experience), a project or programme management qualification. 7+ years demonstrable experience in a project or programme delivery role.

FIG Grade G2: Starting Salary £21,635 - £24,799 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

The Opportunity: To be the first point of contact for the Emergency Services and the Maritime ship to shore radio service, including the efficient management of the telephone switchboard and radio communication systems, accurately assessing non-emergency and emergency calls for assistance, the control and management of Government resources and receiving all visitors to Police Headquarters.

Essential criteria include 5 GCSE passes at Grade 4+ or Grade C+ (or equivalent), a minimum of 5 years’ relevant administrative/clerical experience, the ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing, excellent ‘listening’ skills and a high-level computer literacy.

The Opportunity: The postholder is responsible for the leadership and management of Aircraft Engineering section and ensuring that it meets all requirements for the Continuing Airworthiness of the FIGAS fleet. The role also involves management of assigned tasks, staff, equipment and resources within the boundaries of the Safety Management System to meet operational demands, whilst liaising with other departments to ensure a smooth and cost-effective air transport systems for the Falkland Islands.

Essential Criteria: Valid EASA/UK Part 66 B1.2 licences with category C. Valid EASA/UK Part 66 B1.2 licence with Category C. Type ratings on BN2B-26 Islander Aircraft. Qualification or experience in compass swing inspections. Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management (or equivalent). Human Factors for Leaders and Managers. Practical Skill for Investigators (Multi Environment). Current driving licence.

Essential Criteria: A Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area, (e.g. public policy, law or health & safety etc), a Masters (or equivalent qualification) in any discipline containing significant content relevant to the offshore hydrocarbons industry, a minimum of 5 years’ relevant public sector policy experience, (ideally in off-shore Health, Safety and Environment), evidence of good interpersonal skills and the ability to advise and collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels across government and with external stakeholders.

Job title: Emergency Services Control Room Supervisor

FIG Grade  F starting salary £25,450 - £29,189 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. 

The Opportunity: To play a key role in protecting and supporting our community leading and guiding a team of controllers, to ensure that emergency and non-emergency calls are managed quickly, calmly, and effectively. You would work closely with police and other emergency services, to help coordinate the right response at the right time. You would provide training and development to colleagues, helping them build the skills and confidence needed in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to review incidents and call handling to identify ways to improve the service we deliver. The role also includes supervising reception at the Police Station and welcoming visitors and assisting with a wide variety of public enquiries.

This postholder will be expected to work as part of a shift system pattern which will include weekends and public holidays.

Essential Criteria: A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 4/Grade C (or equivalent), with at least 5 years’ relevant management experience. The applicant must be able to communicate, in written and spoken English, to high standard, have excellent listening skills and a high-level of computer literacy.
