EDUCATION DIRECTORATE Special Educational Needs Teacher - Behaviour

Salary FIG Grade C starting at £43,141 per annum rising to £46,244 per annum for Teachers with 5 + years’ experience.

The Opportunity: To support and teach primary aged pupils at the Stanley Infant / Junior School and Camp Education who may have specific learning difficulties, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and / or a range of special educational needs, including neurodivergent students.

Essential criteria to include a graduate primary teacher with Qualified Teacher status who has completed ECT induction, with at least three years recent teaching experience in a SENDs/behavioural barriers to learning role and a strong understanding and knowledge of barriers to learning.

NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT

Senior Fisheries/Marine Biologist - Fisheries Department
FIG Grade B starting salary £47,928-£54,924 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
The Opportunity: To supervise and coordinate the work of the marine biology group in the Fisheries Department, with the primary objectives of providing research and data analyses of marine biota that support stock assessment and management advice for the Falkland Islands’ commercial fishery species.
Essential criteria to include qualified to Ph.D. level in an appropriate fishery, marine biological or zoological discipline with at least 2 years post graduate experience working in fisheries biology and managing scientific projects. The applicant should be able to process, analyse, elucidate, and solve a variety of fisheries science issues and have excellent drafting skills, including proven experience in writing scientific papers and the ability to write clear, concise and relatable work-oriented material such as Government and departmental reports.

Job Title:  Advanced Practitioner - Adult Social Worker 

FIG Grade: Grade C starting salary £42,641 - £49,090 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity:   To lead on adult safeguarding and complex cases, delivering statutory social work services in accordance with relevant legislation, including the Assessment and Safeguarding of Adults Ordinance 2020 and the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, in preparation for the introduction of the Mental Capacity Ordinance. The role involves multi-departmental working, developing and delivering training on adult safeguarding and the forthcoming Mental Capacity Ordinance, and establishing internal procedures to ensure effective oversight of deprivation of liberty applications and reviews.

Essential criteria to include a degree in Social Work approved by one of the following regulators and current registration with one of the following Social Work England, Social Care Wales, Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) - in Northern Ireland, Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) - in Scotland or if qualifying after 2013, to have completed and passed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment and five years relevant post qualifying experience of working in the UK. (Experience in a British Overseas Territory working under a UK model may be considered).
