Department Name: Health & Social Services 

Job Title:  Advanced Practitioner 

FIG Grade C starting salary £42,641 to £49,090 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: 

To undertake professional and comprehensive casework for a complex caseload of children and young people, working with family trauma and parenting difficulties to improve the Department’s ability to manage complex family cases in the long-term.

Essential criteria: 

For the role include a degree in Social Work, five years relevant post qualifying experience in the UK, good organisational and planning skills and a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Contract Type: This is a permanent post on standard FIG terms and conditions.

Job Title:  Planning Clerk

FIG Grade G1 starting salary £21,135 to £24,279 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: 

To assist the Head of Environmental Planning and Building Services in the efficient and effective running of the department by providing clerical, administrative and technical support.

Essential criteria: 

To include GCSE’s passes in Maths and English at Grade C/Grade 4 or above or equivalent, be competent in the use of IT Office programs, along with two to three years’ administrative experience (preferably within the public sector).

Job Description - Planning Clerk

NATURAL RESOURCES - Agricultural Advisor - Land Recovery & Resilience

Closing Date:  06 February 2026

 

The Opportunity: We are looking for a dedicated Agricultural Advisor to support development of the Department of Agriculture’s work on land recovery and restoration. The appointee will work to advance the knowledge and practice of resilience-based land-management strategies and agroecosystem management. The postholder will provide technical and practical assistance to facilitate farmer participation in relevant agricultural support schemes and programmes, implement targeted monitoring projects related to the recovery and resilience of agricultural landscapes, and contribute to public policy development and stakeholder awareness campaigns on critical land resilience issues.

Minimum essential criteria: to include a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the agricultural or environmental sector with specific focus on agroecosystem management. The postholder must demonstrate project management skills, good computer literacy, solid critical thinking, quantitative/analytical skills and be able to work independently and as part of a small team.

To be considered for the FIG Grade C role the applicant should have a minimum of 5 years’ postgraduate experience in environmental, ecological or agricultural sciences together with a master’s degree (or an equivalent Level 7 qualification) in a relevant subject, or evidence or having significant experience working in a role at the same level and of equal complexity.

Essential criteria required for the role include, educated to the equivalent of first-degree level with evidence of significant continuous professional development and professional qualifications in a relevant subject area.  The successful candidate must also hold a substantial background in a recent senior management position within the UK education sector including management of significant budgets and staff numbers.
