Emergency Services Control Room Operator

FIG Grade G2: Starting Salary £21,135 - £23,443 per annum depending on qualifications and experience

The opportunity: To be the first point of contact for the Emergency Services and the Maritime ship to shore radio service, including the efficient management of the telephone switchboard and radio communication systems, accurately assessing non-emergency and emergency calls for assistance, the control and management of Government resources and receiving all visitors to Police Headquarters.

Job Title:  Caretaker Driver

FIG Grade: 

FIG Salary Grade H1 starting salary £19,413 - £21,469 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: playing a key operational role within Tussac House, the post holder assumes day-to-day responsibility for general caretaking duties across the facility, in particular those relating to cleanliness, general upkeep and security in order to ensure that the facility is a safe, welcoming, and clean environment at all times. The post holder will also undertake general driving duties for both service users and staff.

Essential criteria: to include a full clean driving (manual) licence, a minimum of 12 months experience of driving various vehicle types (e.g. passenger cars and light commercial vehicles) in a safe and careful manner and a minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience in basic DIY and housekeeping/ caretaking tasks.

Contract Type: This is a permanent post on standard local FIG terms and conditions.

Department Name: Health & Social Services 

Job Title:  Advanced Practitioner - Adult Social Work 

FIG Grade: C starting salary £42,641 - £49,090 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity:  to lead on adult safeguarding and complex cases, delivering statutory social work services in accordance with relevant legislation, including the Assessment and Safeguarding of Adults Ordinance 2020 and the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, in preparation for the introduction of the Mental Capacity Ordinance. The role involves multi-departmental working, developing and delivering training on adult safeguarding and the forthcoming Mental Capacity Ordinance, and establishing internal procedures to ensure effective oversight of deprivation of liberty applications and reviews.

Essential criteria: to include a degree in Social Work approved by one of the following regulators and current registration with one of the following Social Work England, Social Care Wales, Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) - in Northern Ireland, Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) - in Scotland or if qualifying after 2013, to have completed and passed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment and five years relevant post qualifying experience of working in the UK. (Experience in a British Overseas Territory working under a UK model may be considered).

EDUCATION DEPARTMENT -  Shield Support Worker

The Opportunity: To assist the SHIELD SEND Teacher and the SHIELD Senior Support Worker with the running of the SHIELD Centre. To work with individuals or groups to ensure a secure and safe working environment either at the Centre or in the wider community.

Essential criteria to include GCSE grade C/level 4 in English & Maths (or equivalent level 2 qualification), a valid manual driving licence B (Car), a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with people with SEND and have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
