The Opportunity: To carry out a wide range of plumbing related tasks and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Essential criteria: to include an NVQ Level 2 in plumbing or equivalent with at least three years’ experience and a valid driving licence.
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT - Carpenter
PROPERTY & MUNICIPAL – Carpenter
The Opportunity: To effectively plan and execute tasks set by the Senior Carpenter, including the supervision and training of apprentices and other co-workers.
Essential criteria: for the role include a current valid driving licence and a minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in carpentry and joinery.

The Opportunity: To supervise works and maintain electrical services throughout all Government properties, ensure efficient management of the Electrical Workshop.
Essential criteria: to include City & Guilds 2365 NVQ Level 3, AM2, 2391 Test & Inspection, Electrical Apprenticeship, or equivalent qualifications and at least 10 years’ post qualification experience.
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT - Waste - Waste Operative
Public Works Department - Waste – Waste Operative
The Opportunity: The Waste Operative will undertake a range of duties required to operate the Eliza Cove Landfill and Waste Transfer Facility at Megabid. The role includes driving and plant operating duties on and around the landfill sites and the Waste Transfer Facility; as required by the Waste Manager. The post holder will be required to work independently as well as part of a team.
NB: The post holder will be required to undergo inoculation against Hepatitis A & B if not already inoculated.
Essential criteria: to include a valid HGV and artic licence, a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the use of heavy plant and machinery, including 360 excavators, 180 excavators, telescopic handlers, and dozer. An understanding of domestic building services maintenance and repairs is also required.
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT - Plant Operator/Handyperson
The Opportunity: To carry out duties as directed by the Foreman to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Pony’s Pass Quarry in line with FIG targets and plans for the production of quality controlled crushed aggregates.
Essential criteria include a valid HGV driving licence and experience of operating different machinery.
HEALTH & SOCIAL SERVICES - Income Support Worker/Social Work Assistant
The Opportunity: The primary role of the Income Support Worker will be to effectively administer and deliver social benefits for two Programmes: Income Support and the Attendance Allowance. Additionally, there will also be Social Worker Assistant duties attached to this post which would support the delivery of the service to adults, children and their families.
Essential criteria for the role include an NVQ Level 3 or higher in a relevant area which could include Social Care, Business Administration, etc. or equivalent experience in a similar role and five years relevant work experience.
