Advise on participation in high-risk activities

As a result of the ongoing global pandemic, FIG advises that individuals should avoid participating in high-risk activities as far as reasonably possible. This is due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Aero Medical facilities.

Dr Rebecca Edwards CMO said:

“Whilst we are very fortunate to be living in a Covid-free environment, sadly the global picture is that the pandemic is worsening, particularly in South America. As a result, our options for aeromedical evacuation are very limited. I’d appeal to everyone to please avoid participating in high-risk activities wherever possible. I appreciate that everyone is keen to get back to playing sport etc, and we will be constantly reviewing the situation and will advise as soon as we feel comfortable that the situation has changed. Thank you for your patience and help in following this advice.”
