Falkland Islands Safeguarding Children Board (FISCB)

The Social Services Department work directly with individuals and families to ensure that they are safeguarded. The role of the Safeguarding Board is to ensure that all departments are doing what they need to in order to safeguard children.

The Safeguarding Boards hold quarterly meetings for this purpose. These meetings are open to the public (except for exempt sections) and the dates are advertised in the Penguin News and on the website for the Legislative Assembly.

The Safeguarding Children Board was established in 2014 to co-ordinate what is done by (and on behalf of) the Falkland Islands Government to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

Function:

To coordinate and ensure the effectiveness of what is done by (and on behalf of) the Falkland Islands Government for the purposes of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Click this link for the FISCB Terms of Reference 2022.
