Highways - Labourer

Salary: FIG Grade: I Starting Salary £16,720 to £18,490 per annum

The Opportunity: Applications are invited to fill full time labourers’ vacancies in the Highways Section of PWD. Applicants will be required to carry out unskilled and occasionally semi-skilled physical tasks using manual and powered tools in an efficient and safe manner, along with routine maintenance to tools and equipment to ensure optimum operation and safety.

Essential criteria for the role include being numerate and literate with a good physical stamina.

There may be an opportunity for the necessary training to be provided to enable the successful applicants to be promoted to Plant Operator/Handyperson.

 Communications Regulator

The Falkland Islands Government is seeking a suitably qualified Regulator to ensure effective regulation of commercial telecommunications services in the Falkland Islands. Independent of the Government, you will work with the Attorney General, who will deputise for you when required. Your primary role is to ensure that the exclusive telecommunications licensee is compliant with the conditions of their operating licence: including working to service levels in accordance with defined performance indicators and implementation of major service improvements. The Regulator will also however advise on policy and regulatory approaches, technical issues, industry trends and best practices for the continuing development of a sustainable broadcasting and communications service / infrastructure within the Falkland Islands.

Emergency Services Control Room Operator

FIG Grade G2: Starting Salary £19,559 – £25,846 per annum depending on qualifications and experience

The opportunity: To be the first point of contact for the Emergency Services and the Maritime ship to shore radio service, including the efficient management of the telephone switch board and radio communication systems, accurately assessing non-emergency and emergency calls for assistance, the control and management of Government resources and receiving all visitors to Police Headquarters.

Salary: FIG Grade: F Starting Salary £23,175 to £26,719 per annum

Infant Junior School & Camp Education Part-time Clerk   

FIG Grade G1: Salary range £19,559 - £24,140 per annum (pro-rata) dependant on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: We are seeking for a responsible individual to provide clerical, administrative, organisational and logistical support within the Infant & Junior School and Camp Education. Essential criteria include GCSE pass in English & Maths and a current valid driving licence.  The candidate must have experience as an office administrator, office assistant, or similar role within a similar working environment.

Contract Type: This post is a part time, permanent post (0.4 of a full time equivalent) on standard FIG terms and conditions.
